Welcome to South Mountain Elementary School! We are incredibly proud of our school, and thank you for taking time to visit our website.

South Mountain Elementary is located on South Mountain Road in Franklin Township in York County. Our school is approximately 2 miles from the center of Dillsburg Borough and sits along the South Mountain. SME was built in 1999, and our facilities include a full gymnasium, cafeteria, library, Discovery Lab, art room and music classroom. South Mountain also has two playground areas along with multiple fields for student use. 

Approximately 400 students in kindergarten through fifth grade enter our school daily. SME students begin their educational experience in kindergarten with our full-day program. We partner with you to support your child in their academic, social, and emotional development. Our teachers provide meaningful opportunities for students in literacy, math, and core content areas. A weekly rotation of special classes such as Music, Art, Library, Physical Education, Health, and Discovery provide enriching experiences for all learners. Students at South Mountain also have the ability to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Our PTO works closely with our school to plan events throughout the year and to support the educational experience at SME.
